Walnut Grove Orthodontist is a full-service orthodontic practice. Our team of orthodontic specialists are dedicated and experienced. We believe in working with patients to maintain and improve their health and smiles.
We work together to serve your entire family for all of your orthodontic needs in all stages of life. Our orthodontists believe in providing comprehensive orthodontic services to our patients in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We also believe in educating our patients as we work with them to achieve the best dental state possible.
Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Richard G. Standerwick, Certified Specialist in Orthodontics, is a native of Vancouver. He graduated high school at Burnaby Central Senior Secondary (1989) and received a BSc. in Microbiology from the University of British Columbia (1993). Dr. Standerwick completed his dental school education at Northwestern University (Chicago, IL) and returned to Vancouver (associated with Dr. R. W. Standerwick) and then Surrey, BC to practice dentistry (1997-2005).
Dr. Standerwick received his Certificate of Orthodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry in (2007). During his orthodontic residency, Dr. Standerwick developed a new method of cephalometric superimposition for growth and treatment analysis, and a new craniofacial growth model.
Dr. Standerwick has 3 amazing children and lives in Langley where he works to have a positive impact on the community. He has the following distinctions:

Fellow of the Royal College of Dentist of Canada
Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics
Member of the editoral review board for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics
Has reviewed for the journals Clinical Anatomy , Head and Face Medicine , the International Journal of Stomatology and Occlusion Medicine , and Journal of Orthodontic Science .
Dr. Standerwick’s is especially interested in research, growth and development, temporary anchorage devices (TADS), temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dynamics, genetics and lingual braces. See Publications.
In his free time, Dr. Standerwick enjoys hockey, soccer, fishing, woodworking and his family.
